Live music set by Vivian Garcia 10:15pm
With a background in Latin America rhythms, and studies of traditional flamenco both at the Old Town School of Folk music and at the Escuela Carmen de las Cuevas in Granada Spain, Garcia quotes "I am a singer who plays guitar, not the other way around...It is in Madrid that I begun writing my own music and as life would have it composing in English. I have been a gigging musician since 1999." She will present us with some rumbas flamencas and of course awesome new original work.
Guest dj sets by Freakeasy’s Radiohiro 11:30pm
Starting off as a punk rock drummer at 16 and selling out Chicago’s famous music venue the Metro 30 years ago, Radiohiro aka Matt Fusello has transformed and reinvented himself in the music world many times. A drummer, dj, producer, and organizer, he’s worked with international superstars such as the late Cheb I Sabbah, and Natascha Atlas. He is also one of the founding members of the unbeatable, unstoppable, and easily best underground party in Chicago the Freakeasy, which takes inspiration from Burning Man. Fusello’s dedicated work with Burning Man for almost 20 years has earned him a spot on the senior staff of this incredibly large and well known event. His musical influence spans across the globe as well. Often working with Chicago’s MC Zulu through breaks, drum and bass, and dubstep styles he mixes in reggae, hindi and middle eastern samples and it is grand.
